Brad Becker’s story begins on his grandfather’s acreage, where he spent countless hours as a young boy helping out with hands-on tasks around the property. It was there that Brad first discovered his passion for working with his hands — a passion that would guide the course of his career and shape his approach to problem-solving and craftsmanship.
After completing a welding program at SAIT (Southern Alberta Institute of Technology), Brad dove headfirst into the trades. Over the years, he gained a wide range of experience that helped him hone both technical skills and practical know-how. He worked for several years in the rail industry as a certified Carman and Inspector, where he focused on the mechanical inspection and safety of railcars — a role that demanded precision, accountability, and a strong understanding of structural integrity.
He also spent four years working in the field on drilling rigs, gaining valuable insight into high-pressure, fast-paced environments. These early experiences in heavy industry taught Brad the importance of safety, efficiency, and thinking on his feet — lessons that continue to serve him well today.
Brad eventually found his calling in the renewable energy sector, where his hands-on mindset and passion for innovation came together. He started by working on solar installations, learning the ropes from the ground up. Inspired by the potential of solar to provide clean, reliable energy, Brad took the leap and founded BeckerSolarFusion Inc. His company now helps homeowners and businesses across Alberta transition to solar with solutions tailored to each unique property.
“Every house is different,” Brad says. “I enjoy the challenge of figuring out the best way to design and install a system that works for that specific roof, location, and customer need. It keeps every job interesting and rewarding.”
Now based in Cochrane, Alberta, Brad is proud to be raising his family in a community that shares his values of sustainability and hard work. He and his wife have two kids and a loyal pup named Bohodi, who’s always ready for the next outdoor adventure. When he’s not on the job, Brad enjoys playing hockey, golfing with friends, or heading to the family cabin to spend time on the water and recharge.
With a deep respect for craftsmanship, a commitment to clean energy, and years of hands-on experience, Brad Becker brings integrity and expertise to every project he takes on.
